Spring Pole Lathe Bowls with Eric Goodson (Part 1)

October 11 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This class will cover the basics of turning bowls on a pole lathe as well as more intermediate techniques, depending on each student’s skill level. We will start Friday axing out bowl blanks for the lathe and then progress to the beginnings of turning as time allows. Saturday will be a full day on the lathes with periodic discussions about technique and tools to give students some time to rest throughout the day. No matter your previous experience on a pole lathe this class will advance your ability. Bring a carving hatchet for bowl blank making but all other tools will be provided with the ability to purchase the turning hooks you use in the class.

Pole lathe turning is a very physical craft so be prepared to work hard and be rewarded for it.
